Comedian Matt Rife was back performing in Des Moines recently and surprised his fans with an exclusive puppy cuddle session courtesy of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
The stand-up star performed at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on June 8 during a stop on his "Matt Rife: Stay Golden Tour" and had the ARL provide several puppies for VIP ticket holders before the show.
"The puppies enjoyed lots of cuddles from VIP ticket holders, then got to go backstage and hang out with Matt!" A social media post from the ARL read. "They had a great time getting love and giving kisses, and one pup even dozed off in Matt’s arms."
This isn't the first time the ARL has had its animals requested by a touring act. Last October, Grammy Award-winning singer Chappel Roan got to hang out with six of the ARL's kittens before a show in Council Bluffs.
