Comedian Matt Rife almost faced a blunder as he sparked concern from fans over his changed appearance as he took on the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards red carpet.
On Sunday, Jan. 5 the controversial 29-year-old stand up comedian looked dashing as he was seen walking the red carpet for the award show held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. For the evening, the Ohio-native was seen sporting a sleek all-black suit paired with a matching black tie. But as Matt hit all his best angles for the camera, fans noticed that his smile appeared slightly different than usual igniting speculation that he could've recently undergone new plastic surgery.
Under a clip of Matt on the red carpet, one person noted: "That’s smile is a bit weird." Another questioned: "Whats wrong with him? Why does he look like that?" To which someone speculated: "fillers and botox." And a fourth critic chimed in: "lmfao pillow face."
In another clip from the Golden Globe Awards, fans got a closer look at Matt as he expressed how eager he was to be a part of the prestigious awards. As he strut down the carpet, he said to the camera: "Hello, how are ya? This is my first Golden Globes ever. Very excited. My good friend Nikki Glaser is hosting and I'm super psyched about it. I'm a little stiff in a suit but I'm so excited."
He continued: "There's so many people here that I've - I almost just cursed sorry - that I've looked up to for so many years. I was hosting the AVNs two years ago and it's a little different of an award show now. So very excited. I don't know how many more times I can say that I'm excited, but that's the theme of the evening."
And as Matt has been hit with new plastic surgery rumors, this isn't the first time he's been accused of going under the knife. In his Netflix stand-up comedy special, "Matt Rife: Natural Selection" the comedian touches on how many people accused him of undergoing jaw surgery to achieve his chiseled jawline. Matt adamantly denied having any form of plastic surgery, and jokingly assured his looks are natural and all come from "doctor G-O-D."
